A little about who we are and why we are here….
November 4, 2008 was bittersweet for us. While celebrating our 18 th year of marriage, we also headed to the polls knowing that the likely outcome of the Presidential election was going to be a disappointment. As solid, grounded, hardworking people, we believe strongly in the fundamental conservative values upon which this great nation was founded. And, while change is inevitable, the nation’s core values should not be allowed to slip away before our eyes.
Despite our disappointment with the outcome of the election, we have a great appreciation for living in a country where people may vote, and win or lose, wake up the next day, go to work, take care of their families and continue to better themselves and those around them. No gunfire. No burning buildings. No riots in the streets. Free elections and you live with the outcome.
So it is with our dedication to basic American values that we decided to do something to positively speak out, ensuring our country knows, regardless of the November 4 th election results, Basic Conservative Values Are Not Dead! On the contrary, we believe what draws so many people to this great nation, to live, raise a family, begin a new life, is the very opportunity that is provided by a Constitution that provides the freedom and belief in the individual spirit to allow that to happen, without force, without oppression. While the political pendulum may swing, the core values that make this country what it is remain true and strong, for without them, it can be no more.
So, the Conservative Pin © is our way of reaching out to ALL conservatives who want to be a part of this statement, standing firm, and letting our leaders and those around us know, in the words of Dr. Seuss, “We are here! We are here! We are here! We are here!” (See Horton Hears a Who).
